Forgive me if I am cautious about a vpn provided by a company with a business model based on personal data collection.

So since the Google VPN is now free of charge for Pixel 7 users, I'm wondering what's the stance of the infosec community? The technology they use seem to be robust and I like that the software is open source. There is also an assessment available done by nccgroup and they conclude this it seems to be pretty secure too. Yet it's a VPN by Google 😜
So would the VPN for daily average usage be a good idea or not ? #googlevpn
