Whilst waiting to see a Beaver, I started videoing this female Goosander and six juveniles. You can see she spots something, stops swimming, sounds a warning and then flees with the young. Shame I couldn't show you the Beaver but it emerged a few moments later. As well as this fantastic moment of nature, I saw (amongst other things)Kingfisher, 17+ Swift, 2 Beaver. A lovely evening's walk.

I know are commonplace in some parts of the now, but to me they are still exotic and exciting. Today was the first time I remember seeing one on my local stretch of river. Same for , though I think Ive seen them here before.

Goosdander seen at Swansea Vale Nature Reserve today, quite a small little reserve in the middle of an industrial area but loads to see there. ISO 10,000 on this from a Sony APSC camera.
