While I know this misses the point, sometimes I think the best response to rigidly enforced dress codes at HS graduations is to full-on lean into it as a way of drawing attention to the ridiculously outdated rules.

Oh, if I'm a trans girl who is mandated to wear "boy's clothes" under my robe? I'll come dressed as the Pope...or Louis XV...or Liberace.

Don't get sad--get litigious and get ostentatious.

Question: in US states banning gender affirming care...does circumcision count? I can't think of a more gender affirming surgery...and it's entirely elective and done w/o a child's permission.

The circumcision rate in Texas, for instance, is about 51%. Seems like someone should maybe sue to bring that into line with Texas' laws, no?

PS: I have no opinions/feelings about circumcision--I'm just interested in malicious compliance & equal application of the law.

Tomorrow (April 24) is . There are bunches of things you can do to mark the day, some as simple as checking out a banned book from your local library.

My (73 yo) mom & I were talking about the this morning--specifically about the ironically named Moms For Liberty, their book banning, & their efforts to destroy school libraries. She's pissed. We're all pissed. FIGHT AGAINST IT.
