I wonder if #Gort in Ireland is where Edmund North took the name of the robot in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951)? (It was nameless in Harry Bates' novella and the lamentable 2008 remake.)

Is there such a thing as #TowerTuesday? This is the 12th century Round Tower at Kilmacduagh Abbey in #Gort #Galway #Ireland. A place of refuge for the monks in case of attack, it has only one door, located 8 meters from the ground.

I think this was Kim Stanley Robinson's point in his book "The Ministry for the Future".
