Rocket Lab released its earnings yesterday, let’s take a closer look.
Let’s start with the big announcements:
-BlackSky signed a 5 launch contract for electron. Bringing the total contracted launches from BlackSky to eleven!
-A “confidential” customer signed a launch contract for HASTE in 2024.
-Targeting 4 launches this quarter and targeting 15 launches for the whole year.
-Targeting 20 launches for 2024.

Looks like my favorite #BlueOrigin program got an award by NASA!
They got $35M to further develop their blue alchemist solar tech!
According to NASA, a technology like Blue Alchemist is considered at a Tipping Point if the agency’s investment can help grow the innovation into a viable commercial solution. Today’s investment will result in a demonstration of autonomous operation in a simulated lunar environment by 2026.

Rocket Lab's next mission (#welovethenightlife) will launch from pad B in New Zealand!
If they manage to launch on July 28th, it will be the fastest launchpad cadence we've ever seen.
The current record is 18 days from the TROPICS launches. We Love The Night Life would shatter that record with a cadence of just 10 days!

#rocketlab just announced their next mission.
It is called "We Love The Night Life" and it is a dedicated launch for Capella Space.
This mission will launch the first of their next generation Acadia satellites and is set to launch on 28 July 2023. That is just 10 days after the previous launch.
The Electron rocket will take off from LC-1 in New-Zealand. It is currently unknown if Electron will take off from pad A or B. If they launch from pad B, it will be the fastest time Rocket Lab has relaunched a rocket on the same pad.
On top of that, #WeLoveTheNightLife will be the 40th Electron launch (including HASTE) to date!

The #rocketlab #BabyComeBack mission is a success!
All 7 payloads were deployed in their desired orbit and the booster was successfully recovered. Great job Rocket Lab!
We also learned a few things during the webcast:
First of all, the next launch is only in about 10 days!
If they managed to launch in 10 days, they would almost beat their launch cadence record of just 8 days.
Secondly we got to see official footage of the #HASTE launch!

#rocketlab just got another launch contract from Synspective, bringing the total contracted launches to 6!
Synspective is an Earth observation company focused on SAR imaging.
To date, Rocket Lab has been the sole launcher of the Synspective constellation.
Another cool thing mentioned in the press release:
"In addition to providing Synspective with a high degree over schedule and orbit by flying as a dedicated mission, Rocket Lab also delivers the unique ability to perform an advanced mid-mission maneuver with the Electron rocket’s Kick Stage to shield the StriX satellite from the sun to reduce radiation exposure ahead of payload deployment."
The launches are planned for late 2023.

So after reading a bit more about the #BlueOrigin engine mishap, this is what we know:
1) ULA: ULA has already received the two BE4 engines needed for the inaugural launch of #vulcan.
This mishap will have no impact on the launch date of Vulcan.
2) Blue Origin: The engine in question had previously failed an ATP (Acceptance Test) and was reworked.
After static firing the engine, the engine exploded thus failing the ATP a second time (and last time).
Failing ATP's is not uncommon, especially when you're ramping up production. It's better to fail an ATP than cause a failed launch.
According to Tory Bruno, this is not a big issue and is not uncommon. It's more about scrap rate than anything.

ABL's RS1 #rocket is vertical on the pad. Hopefully they manage to launch it today! #gospace
