We were camping with family when someone noticed this goanna had taken a liking to my sister-in-law's shoe. By the time this photo was taken it had taken its booty about 4 metres up the tree, it ended up on the horizontal branch at top right. After about half an hour, it lost interest and dropped the shoe, which apart from goanna saliva suffered little damage. By the way another name for the common goanna is the lace monitor...
