@Lyle A teacher at the high school on #GovernorsIsland in #NYC(#HarborSchool) told me he had to commute from the Bronx to get something affordable. I thought totally wacky as there's so many livable buildings on Governors Island.

Such a great #actonclimate plan for @Gov_Island, situated in the middle of a fabled harbor that is also a watery campus and laboratory for sustainability and already shows such recuperative powers (read Jon Waldman's classic, "Heartbeats in the Muck" https://www.fordhampress.com/9780823249855/heartbeats-in-the-muck/)

@DrTCombs Try the #GovernorsIsland ferry in #NYC. Zillions of pedestrians. Maybe just a few hundred. One line of cars. The cars get off first. I suppose because of terrible #carbrain and fear of getting hit by one.

NYC mayor Eric Adams and the Trust for Governors Island recently announced a new addition to Governors Island’s fleet: New York Harbor’s first public, hybrid electric ferry, which will begin transporting visitors to Governors Island in summer 2024.

@haq Actually #GovernorsIsland is the best place for this because its already enclosed. Certainly in that area where they show the free films. There may have been sheep on Governors Island already but when I looked I could not find them. I cannot imagine a sheep successfully sneaking on to a ferry.

Sometimes nature provides an opportunity that’s too “great” to pass up.
