NY Governor Hochul's nominee for the chief judge of the Court of Appeals (the state's supreme court) could get a vote in the full state Senate, not just the judiciary committee, as a lawsuit by senate Republicans requests - but it'd probably guarantee his defeat, as 2 of his supporters are out of town.

This whole thing makes #GovHochul and the Repubs both look politically incompetent.
