I'm seeing a lot of comments on social media that articles and blog posts that people don't agree with are AI created writings and they won't look into the information presented in them.

Just because you don't agree with an article doesn't mean your opinion is more authoritative than the author of the original information.

I think we're going to find that AI generated information will give ignorant people an excuse to remain and spread that bullshit far and wide as "truth."

With all this talk about GPTChat & AI freaking teachers at school & university lecturers out, the only solution is for students to do sit down exams...yes, pen & paper. Like I did way back....

After trying #Bing Chat (the new search functionality) I'm kinda disappointed. I let it lookup how it cost to join my sport club and although it pointed to the correct page it not only incorrectly interupt the numbers, but also said numbers that were not on the site.

When I correct it the response was "no, you're stupid and I don't want to talk with you".

Mind you: I was the once the treasurer at the club.

So yeah... Not in the same ballpark as #GPTChat

Bing is offended after it said something wrong.

1. The Mac App Store does offer iPhone apps.
2. The Girih App does not have in-app purchases.

#GPTChat thinks I am in the future because its training data is 2 years out of date.

"I apologize for the confusion! My training data only goes up until September 2021, so I don't have information on events or releases that have occurred after that date. Thanks for letting me know that you're in the future - that's pretty cool! Is there anything else you'd like to chat about?"

Today a colleague and I learned that GPTChat can write really good lesson plans.

This led to a debate about ethics.

If you get output from GPTChat, cite it, and adjust it for your classroom and students, is it okay to use?

Is using GPTChat to write the equivalent of using a computer for math, such that the learning is in knowing what input and what to do with the output?

Or is it, as other colleagues fear, the end of using writing to show understanding?
