We did #childcare on Friday. Because I've spent 65 of the last 68 years fretting about everything that can go wrong, we began putting away everything that could fly off in wind and hurt us or the house. The 6-year-old helped. We are babysitting our 2-year old grandson & 2-month old granddaughter. We’ve only been here 2 hours. Grandpa told me he just “hit the wall.” Only 2 more hours to go! I got out the Duplo’s, so think the 2-year old will build towers for a little while so I can take care of little sis. #grandparenting

Unsure we'll feel up to watching #children tomorrow since their mom must work (no sick pay), father feels too sick to deal w/ #kids, who have recovered enough to be pesky. I can now be upright for 2 hours without needing to lie down again. Yesterday tolerated herbal tea, #bubbespickles, and soup. Spouse feels worse overall but managed coffee& brekkie. Got back from #Europe late Saturday. Feels too soon to want to go back instead of staying here to be helpful to those with more urgent needs. Also way tired cuz #jetlag +late night rescue that required me driving to meet the fam after they spent the day at #Disneyland. Drove to a deserted #BurgerKing off the #805. I have family there, whom I just visited. 2yo granddaughter who I had never previously met, and whose birthday we celebrated while I was there.
