The thing is, I'm sure it already exists by a dozen fly-by-night companies. But this has to be a robust solution, it has to have hooks for all sorts of platforms that will be just as likely to want to build their own versions of the same idea if it succeeds, or lock themselves into stupid exclusivity deals ("Sorry, can't pay your bank bills with Amazon Homestead, they're only availble with Samsung Smartstart," that rubbish.) It occured to me that we need something like AOL again, but for elder internet users. In many cases our parents and grandparents who you're constantly worried about clicking the wrong thing because they tried to look for computer help and one of a thousand AI-generated scam websites said "Click here to fix it!" They just want to read the news, check their messages, pay their bills, and look up information. Betty and the Mysterious Visitor is a beautiful and touching picture book which celebrates nature and family relationships. The illustrations are so delicate and colorful, I really love them ! I enjoyed the mystery twist in the story and the imaginative creation of the young heroine to save her grandmother’s garden.

On a video call with my mum in Belfast I told her that, even though we live in London, my two year-old son has picked up a Northern Irish accent from me.

She asked for an example.

I said "well he just 'daddy lie down!' "

She said "what's Northern Irish about that?"

I said "well I just said it in my accent, which is Northern Irish, in case you'd forgotten"

Watching Meet Me in St. Louis with my 93-year-old grandmother. I asked her if they used to go trick or treating on Halloween. She said they (the family) didn't really celebrate Halloween, but does remember a "trick" other kids would do was to knock down outhouses.

She said they did go door to door at Christmas where neighbors would hand out Christmas cookies, pastries and fruit. I love asking her questions about her early life.
