Yesterday was the hottest day of the year in Charlotte; so of course we set off for a 72 mile ride from Fairview to Stanfield that turned into an 83 mile ride (my longest ride yet)
The ride presented us with a beautiful sunrise at the start, winding rolling hills and challenging climbs at the end. #roadcycling #cycling #granfondo

Wieder einmal im Schwarzwald unterwegs. Diesmal aber grösstenteils auf mir noch unbekannten Strassen.
Heute beschäftigte ich mich nochmals mit dem Aufsuchen von Kacheln. Ich finde es aber auch schön, immer wieder durch andere Gegenden zu fahren. Dass ich dabei vielleicht etwas Neues entdecke ist ja auch eine schöne Nebenerscheinung.

Nach den vielen eher kurzen Fahrten dieser Woche, wollte ich heute wieder einmal etwas Längeres fahren.
Trotz der Hitze wollte ich wieder einmal eine längere Fahrt unternehmen. Diesmal wollte ich ein paar Kacheln, ein paar von mir noch unbefahrene Strässchen, etwas westlich des Wiggertales unter die Räder meines Rennrades legen. Die Grösse meines MaxSquares reicht derzeit bis etwa in die Gegend des Wiggertales.

You know that infamous moment with the inflatable arch coming down on the road on top of Adam Yates?
Well today at the #GranFondo & #MedioFondo, just (and no more) past the finish line an ambulance got wedged under the camera device (not sure precisely what it is) platform above the road!
Fortunately nobody was finishing, it was between groups of finishers & they got lucky there was time to clear it.
I only got a photo as there was a #Spitfire plane passing at the moment of impact. #Cycling

A selection photos giving an idea of the atmosphere around the Start and Finish of the #GranFondo and #MedioFondo in Tay Street, Perth and Scone Palace, near #Scone, just outside of #Perth.
Really enjoyed it today. The Start and Finish of cycle races can seem a little, brief, shall we say, when you see them on the TV. But I found it much more interesting experiencing it myself.
