GrapheneOS Vanadium Browser, we now have a toggle for "Cross-origin referrer policy" which allows you to reduce or disable the header from which you are visiting from. Go to Settings --> Privacy and Security --> Cross-origin referrer policy.
For example, from duckduckgo, I search ipleak.net and go to that site from duckduckgo. In DEFAULT mode, ipleak servers know I came from duckduckgo. Changing the setting to DISABLE, ipleak.net does not show I came from duckduckgo.
Maybe I'm stupid for asking this but... #GrapheneOS has wallpaper support right? I've watched many videos showcasing it but every single one shows just a black screen as the wallpaper.
The Pixel 6a also returns among the phones available in the J-D STORE.
#grapheneOS couldn't be left out of the alternative mobile OS options to choose from!

On android, when using profiles, it is not possible to set up a hotspot when not using the admin profile. (This seems to be an android thing)
A possible workaround is to activate the hotspot from the admin profile and then switch to the other profile. The hotspot will stay active. Slightly inconvenient though.
Just wondering if there is an easier way ๐ค

Besides DivestOS, the first sections include:
- an explanation of security support and updates on Android
- comparison and info about security updates in #GrapheneOS, #CalyxOS, #LineageOS, #DivestOS
- exposition of security-related and other issues in /e/os (#murena), #iodรฉOS, #Replicant, GSIs, and #UBPorts (#UbuntuTouch)

This is a great video on first-steps after installing #grapheneOS
Anyone who is on the brink, add this to your watchlist / notes ๐๐พ
For the past 9 years I was using #CyanogenMod and #OxygenOS.
Now I feel like I'm a spoiled #android brat ๐ฅฒ
I want to make #grapheneOS my daily driver and it is like a reality check on how #stockandroid actually feels like, when it is not sugarcoated ๐ I am in pain!
My first gripe: how do I get rid of the white bar at the bottom? (Who needs it?)
I feel like I need to make a bunch of adjustments before I can feel comfortable using it. This is NOT GrapheneOS' fault. It is simply stockandroid.

Big thumbs up to the #grapheneOS team.
Installing it is SO easy that anyone who can read and comprehend will be able to do it!
Basically:
- enable Dev options
- unlock OEM
- reboot phone
- click stuff on the webinstaller one by one
- done ๐๐พ
No technical background required. This is how it should be! ๐๐พ
The pixel 6a just arrived.
Tomorrow I'll spend some time with it and set up #grapheneOS ๐๐พ
It is ironic that the #degoogle process includes a Google phone... ๐
I've been using 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.1.3 for the longest time, but NextDNS looks pretty cool.
If you get a Pixel phone, #CalyxOS is very beginner-friendly. Well, the install process isn't as beginner-friendly as #GrapheneOS' web installer, but it's still pretty easy. Download the win/lin/mac executable and run it with your phone connected, follow the prompts.
Just make sure you have ~4GB space in /tmp for staging.
(I usually have to comment /tmp tmpfs from fstab when installing calyx)
My new #Pixel #Tablet is on its way. I'm curious to see how #grapheneOS runs on it.
I will test different things in the next few days and share my experiences with you.

Honestly, it's working so well now that the only thing I miss is in-app purchases. I could get those back with a different alternate Android OS (#GrapheneOS), but #CalyxOS fits my use case better, and I don't *need* in-app purchases right now.
Otherwise, I've got things humming along pretty well.

New Video: As I recently made the switch over from the #pixel6 to the #pixel7, I go through all of the apps I currently run on my new device running #GrapheneOS.
Thanks to @josh I discovered Obtanium, which handles installing and tracking FOSS android apps directly from their source repos on Github, Gitlab, etc. Good stuff!

@c_th1 Hatte schon mal ein #Pixel4a, was kurzzeitig mit #GrapheneOS lief. Wusste also worauf ich mich einlieร.

New phone and new OS.
Purchased a Google Pixel 6a phone specifically to install GrapheneOS. The web installer/instructions for Linux (Debian) worked like a charm:

Now to explore! ๐ ๐ฑ
On my #pixel7 running #GrapheneOS, I like having these toggles as my first 8 in the quick setting menu (swipe down from the top). This allows me to quickly ensure my camera, mic, hotspot, all radios, etc. are OFF unless needed, then I can also easily turn them ON/OFF as needed.
What's your favorite first 8 toggles?
