There is no #tipping culture in Japan. That’s how I believe it should be in the U.S.
The American tradition of tipping is a vestige of the #JimCrow Era, and a way to control and denigrate a workers #dignity after the end of slavery. If consumers are expected to tip upwards to 30%, and no less than 15%, then workers are obviously not getting a #LivingWage that everyone deserves… [see comments] #gratuity #FoodService #labor

Brought to you by the folks who hate the new tip (#gratuity) normal in the #US, where you are presented on a screen with a 20% or other tip amount for a coffee, haircut, etc., while your provider hovers: #gop propose a 30% mandatory “tip” to the feds on every transaction, including services.

Late night comedy writers, over to you: I keep picturing Marjory Taylor Greene presented with a bill for arms and ammo with 30% vat.
