The answer:
This is a #replica of the #palaeolithic #flute found at Grubgraben, #Austria. It's 16cm long with 3 finger holes, made from a #reindeer #tibia, dated to 18.000-19.000 BP, and attributed to the late #Gravettian #culture. It's the earliest known flute with finger holes created by a #flint drill; for older ones scraping was used. The upper part did not survive intact, so we don't know exactly what the mouthpiece was like, but based on experimentation notch or rim-blown seem likeliest.
