It's #GravyDay in Australia. "How To Make Gravy" by Paul Kelly has firmly placed itself in the #Australian #Christmas song canon for its heartbreaking storytelling, being told from the perspective of a man in prison. Writing to his family on December 21st, hence why the song is celebrated today, he tells them all the small moments of family Christmas he's going to miss and asks who will make the gravy - a task usually assigned to him.

Paul Kelly is one of the great Australian songwriters, so his hits are going to endure. However, this one has done so because it's relatable for a lot of people.
