Generation restore is collecting seeds to heal the land
Indigenous young people are restoring environment ravaged for generations.
"Generations of land clearing since colonisation has put an ancient ecosystem in southern New South Wales in danger. The ultimate goal is to create an environment suitable for native pines that have been over-harvested. Native trees such as the cypress pine were once prolific in the woodland, but were historically used for homesteads and fencing, which resulted in generations of clearing."

"The Bureau has the power to impound livestock or levy fines, but managers are timid because they fear another armed standoff similar to the ones led by the Bundy family in Oregon and Nevada, Shawcroft said. In 2014 in Nevada, Cliven Bundy, his family and an armed militia organized a standoff with federal agents who had come to round up the rancher’s cows that were illegally grazing on federal land."

Pardalotes, thornbills, treecreepers, gerygones and nightjars. Forty woodland bird species are listed as threatened and several others are declining. Avoiding damage and loss of habitat in the first place is the most important thing we can do.

Said dummies bought the ranch in the middle of the process to determine whether ranching would continue on the #SanPedroRiparianNCA, a place that was never legally authorized for #grazing in the first place.
