Argentina has tons of crazy prefixes.
They surface in both CQMM and WPX contests.

I'm a contest addict. Mostly CW.
But I like talking to people a lot too. CW or SSB to USA for 'ragchew QSO'.

Slow going in the CQMM #hamradiocontest .
Big difference with previous years. It's not really propagation... Two years ago there was massive participation.
Yesterday I took down my WARC antenna to deploy the 80m vertical. For only one Brazilian and 4 EU?
Oh well. Let's try to work some more. Especially those juicy SA prefixes.

I have no reason not to believe you and I can vividly imagine what it must sound like, but I have yet to encounter such speech on HF.
I mostly do CW and limit SSB to the occasional contest. Might that be a reason?
It's an open question, not a statement!
That said: it's everywhere so why not in the #greatesthobbyintheworld ?

Not talking about the social media cesspool or online commenting proze - just RF wise on the ham bands.

Sunday morning, the wind settled and I hyped myself up to raise tower and 80m antenna. Detached 160m wire for faster setup.
I started in the #arrl contest with about 12h to go.
I landed just short of 1100 sweet DX QSO.
I had two clock hours of sustained 170~180 QSO/hr on 20m.
Later on 40m I got the 'fresh meat treatment' with another rate explosion. I didn't make any contacts there before as I skipped the first nights.

How's it going with #cqcontest in #rtty you ask? Even if you don't ask, I gonna tell anyway.
Usually I do fast snappy CW contesting. RTTY is soooo slloooowww.
Usually I have a beefy kW amp running. I decided to go barefoot, rig at 90W out. Moohahaaa...
Usually the yagi is between 15m and 21m AGL. I left the tower down so the tribander sits only 8m high.
'nuff said?
And I worked 11 Dutch(wo)men in the #pacc contest on 28MHz.

Tons of frequencies, modes, techniques.
You can re-invent yourself as a ham, do something totally different, and still be a ham.
And age is just a number, even in HEX...

ON5ZO is mostly active as OQ5M.
QTH = central Belgium, 30km SW of Brussels.
My favorite mode is CW, and a little SSB. I'm only active on HF bands.
I like contesting, making simple antennas and also the social aspect of the hobby.
I like talking to people in CW, REAL QSO too, especially on 30m.
I call it #greatesthobbyintheworld...
