I am over the moon happy to have discovered that I have found the weird sci-fi movie from my childhood that I have thought about on and off for decades now: The Alien Factor. Not only did I find out its name, but you can watch it on YouTube!

The film has it all, bad lighting, shaky cameras, handmade costumes, early Dr Who era special effects, acting of various quality, & early 70s synth soundtrack which I am in love with. The plot is about a small rural community terrorized by aliens that crash land in the hills. I have vivid memories of watching this once as a kid on The Great Money Movie hosted by Eddie Driscoll. If you know who/what that is, you are a. old and b. you grew up in a specific part of the country. It's been so long I sometimes wondered if I'd imagined ever seeing it. I think part of the reason I liked it was because the setting looked like the place I lived in at the time. Anyway, my evening has been made.
