I took this photograph at the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge.

Hidden gems ...
I was browsing through photos this morning and came across this photo of a juvenile white ibis and a great white egret. I took this in Georgia during the Thanksgiving holiday at an almost hidden pond across from my hotel. I originally set it aside in my head as not usable. But after looking at it this morning, I changed my mind. It presents a peaceful, calming quality of nature.

It's fun photographing these birds. This one seems to have stepped into a studio atop a pedestal. I took this photo at the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, Louisiana.

Great White Egret
This egret flew by almost at eye level. The sun was shining on its back and wings, you can almost see the wing's skeleton. The location was the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge.

Great White Egret
This bird was at Vernon Lake, Louisiana a couple months ago. I watched it take off and then fly through a narrow-forested valley. Just before the egret flew out of sight, a second egret joined it. They both disappeared into the forest.
