Been invited by a friend so my initial plans of wine had to adapt. I wouldn't go as far as to call this a #Barolo. It's a great #wine, with its own quirks. High in alcohol, good structure. I detect #blueberry and #tobacco. Not very deep in colour. Probably I should stop believing when they say that a wine is the X of place like the Barolo of Greece. These comparisons are never right nor explaining what they mean. #greekwine #winelover #winetasting

@micchega @marksquires You may be able to find Hatzidakis around … to the extent that their wines are available … it’s been a few years since I was in the trade in the UK, but there were a couple #GreekWine specialties around back then that I purchased from (talking over a dozen years ago), but my memory ain’t that good with names.

@marksquires yes exactly that. I prefer wines that have more character. I still would like to try a #MargaretRiver before I add #Chardonnay to "do not buy list". Lovely list of #GreekWine, will defo try some. Haven't tried anything from Greece yet, but I have been saving a bottle of #Xinomavro. #wine #winetasting

At dinner at Krasi last night, we ordered two bottles of Greek orange wine, from rare indigenous grapes I had never tasted before: 2020 Pontiglio Winery Lianoroiodo Kakotrygus and 2019 Sant'Or Amphora Santameriana. Both were delicious, intriguing and great with food. The Sant'Or was the funkier of the two, with strong tannins and lots of savory notes, while the Pontiglio was brighter, with strong citrus notes, along with a savory aspect. #greekwine #wine #orangewine

@sandswimmer Haven’t had that from Tetramythos … had the regular Mavro K and I like their Natur Roditis & Natur Chardonnay. Will have to ask about it from my #GreekWine importer/distributor that carries the rest of their wines!
