(3/3) To date, CSU students have researched dozens of Green Book sites and other #Black leisure sites, including a Black beach community on Lake Erie and recreational farms and country clubs dotting the N.E. #Ohio countryside. We also assembled a multi-partner #GreenBookCLE Collaborative that is developing community partnerships in #Cleveland and #Akron that will incorporate an #oralhistory component to invite firsthand perspectives.

(2/3) #GreenBookCLE uses the #PlacePress plugin for WordPress that we (the Center for Public History + Digital Humanities at Cleveland State University) developed with #NEH DHAG funding in 2020-21. Anyone who has a #WordPress site and wants to create location-based stories or tours can use this tool, which is one more alternative for mapping-related #DH projects (b'c, obviously, diff. projects need diff. tools). https://wpplacepress.org

I want to share a big announcement about a #postdoc opportunity, but first I need to provide some background since I haven't posted about the project here yet. So, for starters, in 2021 I started a new location-based project called Green Book Cleveland. The idea was to engage my students and the broader community in uncovering the stories of sites of Black leisure and recreation in the era of the Green Book guides.
