The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has updated the Guidelines regarding #Sustainabilityclaims. The guidelines contain rules of thumb and practical examples to help companies phrase their sustainability claims.

Research on the #GreenClaims of companies shows that "nearly all claims relied on loopholes or tricks to exaggerate their ambition and company #climate targets."

This is totally out of control.

Research consistently finds that +/- 50% of #environmental claims on products are false or misleading: "a wild west market environment" #greenwashing

The directive (official draft due in March) will force companies to justify green claims within 10 days or face penalties.

Neben dem #RechtAufReparatur werden nun auch Regeln zu #GreenClaims von der #EU-KOM vertagt. Das ist nicht akzeptabel. Wir brauchen endlich mehr Geschwindigkeit bei Gesetzen für mehr #Nachhaltigkeit und #Verbraucherschutz, gerade in der EU.

Neben dem #RechtAufReparatur werden nun auch die Regeln zu #GreenClaims von der #EU-KOM verschoben. Das ist nicht akzeptabel und ich erwarte endlich mehr Umsetzungsdruck bei Gesetzen für mehr #Nachhaltigkeit und #Verbraucherschutz.
