> The most common criticism of it is that it talks about , that is humanity. It elevates all of humanity into this position, suggesting that all humans are responsible, which is not the case. Today, the annual emission of an average is equal to one fridge. So, the shocking thing is that when we talk about the , we are conflating all these great inequalities and reducing them to a single dimension.

fertilisers contribute less than 3 per cent of Australia's emissions each year.

"In Australia,.. [that's] about 14 million tonnes of equivalence a year. So that's a few per cent of our total emissions … it's significant, but it's not a massive contributor like say, our electricity system,"

"[With] other fertilisers such as fertilisers, you don't get those same greenhouse gases on farm, but they still have an energy footprint.“

"There are emissions of both pre-farm, on-farm, and also through post farm activities, including through waste distribution … impacts, which include eutrophication of waterways, that's increased nitrogen in waterways, which can increase blooms, and sometimes acidification of soils associated with fertiliser application,"

How wealthy "super emitters" are disproportionately driving the — while blaming you
Study found that top 10% of households are responsible for 40% of total U.S.
In fact "the top 1% of households are responsible for more emissions (15-17%) than the lower earning half of American households put together (14% of national emissions)."

Environmental campaigners Climate Action Network Europe and the non-profit Global Legal Action Network have taken a first step towards legally challenging the European Commission over a policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which they said fell short of Europe's "fair share" in combating climate change.

Deforestation, climate disruption and bushfires

'Unprecedented' Canadian wildfires made worse by climate change, scientists find
"It's going to get worse."

Australia is also likely to see 'more frequent and more severe extreme weather events' due to global warming. Scientists warn severe weather will get worse. During the Black Summer fires, Australia saw roughly the same number of fire-induced thunderstorms, known as pyrocumulonimbus, as seen in the country over several decades".
"One of the worst impacts of fires like those in Canada and during the Black Summer in Australia was the widespread impact on air quality. It's hard to adapt to — if the air we breathe isn't safe to breathe."

The government advisors warned that Germany is set to miss crucial EU targets in the coming years, which means that it would have to pay for emissions allocations from other member states

From heat waves and wildfires to downpours and flooding, 2023 has given us a taste of the impacts we can expect over the coming decades and centuries.

Without very significant reductions in greenhouse gases—beginning immediately—it is very likely that global surface temperatures will exceed the 1.5C threshold set in the 2015 Paris climate agreement.

10 facts that prove the world is in a climate emergency.

The Dutch government is urging its citizens to keep limiting showers to 5 mins due to expected gas shortages in the coming winter. If you can afford it,consider investing in electric cooking or solar/electric water heating. This will save gas for the coming winter, reduce CO2 emissions, leave the gas for the poor, reduce your energy bill, fight the autocrats while enjoying long hot showers. Like other gases, methane has a cycle, meaning there are sources (natural and human-made) but also sinks (natural processes that remove the gas from the atmosphere)

20+ years ago things weren't this evident. Some won't get concerned about global warming until it's their house which burns during a wildfire, gets flooded, or destroyed by a unexpected blizzard. Natural disasters related to human emissions are happening now, and this is the moment to act and get back in track with nature

The German government approved the allocation of €57 billion in investments to tackle climate change, as Berlin pursues the goal of reaching greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045.

The money will go into the Climate and Transformation Fund, which was originally created in 2010.

A large portion of the funding boost will go to the construction industry, to make new and old buildings greener.
