A great training day today organised by the #GreenParty for some of our #LE24 candidates. I learned a lot from the speakers, but also really enjoyed just getting to talk with so many brilliant people from around the country, hearing about why they are running and how they are getting on. Looking forward to seeing everyone again next month at convention!

Very alarming to see the extent to which the media is still able to influence public perceptions

As recently as February 2021 51% of British voters agreed with the statement “a transgender woman is a woman”, including 6 in 10 women. 34% disagreed

In April this year only 33% of voters agreed that trans women are women, with 47% disagreeing

Green Party AGM right now, online via Zoom embedded within another platform (crowdcomms). I'm combining it with housework, to make it a little more interesting. Some tech glitches, but nothing too serious.

Having the AGM separate will allow conference to concentrate on policy, etc.

#Portsmouth #GreenParty were out picking #litter near Stamshaw water front along the harbour. So Important to protect wildlife and make the area pleasant for visitors and residents. We found unusual items such as a toilet seat, gas lamp, and canisters of NO2.

I had my first direct encounter with troll-like behavior here on Mastodon a few weeks ago. After nine months being active on this platform, I think that's a pretty good run. Then again I'm not a member of typically targeted groups — except I am in the #GreenParty, and that's how he found me. This guy surfs certain hashtags, swoops in, and deals out what he hopes are withering zingers. He's not interested in dialog, just opposition. After due deliberation, I blocked him.
