The Green Party have stood over homelessness, evictions, screwing over institutional survivors and migrants, and much more.

They justified all this to themselves by saying it would all be worth it because if they went into government, they could reduce emissions.

Fatima Ibrahim's #GreenNewDealRising is a very good thing, but this old cynic would like to see evidence of substantial youth interest in #GreenPolitics.

It's all very well for #GenZ to moan about #GenX and #Boomers like me, but it would be nice to see them turn away from their sodding smartphones, and get out there to vote and organise on a mass scale. If they did, there would be no #Tory party, and maybe #Labour wouldn't be so fucking useless.

Attended a talk by Jonathan Porritt last night and joined in the Q&A afterwards which got me fired up again about #greenpolitics. What struck me, and has stayed with me over the last 24 hours, is the way he spoke with clear conviction - a refreshing stance given the endless equivocating we hear in NZ political discourse - and I say this as someone who has been intimately involved as a volunteer with the Green Party of Aotearoa (esp our comms and campaigns).

Ireland is one of the only Governments (if not the only) to have a green party as part of its composition not once but *2 times* in the past 15 years.

Interesting to hear Eamon Ryan rowing back on the 1 million EVs target and talking about the need to radically change our transport patterns.

The recent OECD report on Ireland's journey to zero emissions transport was clear that the focus on EVs is not helping and that we need to reduce car-dependency and reallocate road space to sustainable transport modes incl active travel.
