It took me a week but I fixed my trike neck rest. I cut reinforcing pieces from a nylon cutting board and glued it all together with polyurethane construction glue.

The hardest part was clamping the pieces together for the glow to dry. There were no parallel surfaces so the bits kept slipping and I ended up with glue all over my hands.

After it was finished I made a new towelling cover for the foam pad.

Thursday's trike ride. I rode over to the post office at Clifford Gardens and then rode around Toowoomba until I saw this house in Mt Lofty.

A wonky A frame. It's a bit different to the older Toowoomba houses.

On Sunday I went for a ride with the TRBUG on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Coominya to Esk and return.

The unfolded trike only just fits in the Honda Jazz with the front passenger seat pushed forward and with the backrest tilted forward too.

After an uneventful drive to Coominya I unloaded the trike and reattached everything I had taken off it to fit it the car.

We rode along the rail trail in very pleasant weather. The track dips through creek lines at each trestle bridge. Although some bike riders got off and walked their bikes I was able to ride through each one.

The only one I had problems with was one with a line of stepping stones across the creek. On the first time over I rode through the water beside them and part way up the far side. I then came to a 30cm vertical step. I had help lifting the trike over.

On the way back I rode down ok and across the creek but lost traction and bogged in the loose gravel where the stepping stones met the edge. I needed help to get going

Towards Esk I saw a couple looking up at a tree. I stopped and saw a koala. I took some photos and talked to the people.

When I got to Esk the group was nowhere in sight. I phoned the leader and one of them found me.

This morning I went for my second trike ride since I sorted out my electrical problems. Hot and sunny, but not quite as hot as forecast.

At the 25 km mark I bought a coffee then circled round until I found a shady spot to sketch.

The ride was 32 km all up.

On September last year I rode my recumbent trike from Toowoomba to the historic Spring Bluff railway station and back.

It's not a working station except for the occasional steam train excursion. There is a cafe and extensive gardens originally developed by the stationmaster.

The line up the range is now mainly coal trains, there are no passenger trains.

The ride from the top of the range is a steep ride down and back up but doable for an ebike.
