The weather cleared up a bit in the hour before sunset. This time last year, I was catching these guys foraging in the shallows. This year, they are hunkered down under logs and rocks.

Bass fishing starting to pick up. I did a very ugly back cast sort of around a corner, and reminded myself to "fish every cast". Diligence paid off.

Finally getting into the bass at my new fishing spot. He was hiding in the branches of a deadfall, and he took an unweighted bait fish pattern right unser the surface. Jumped completely out of the water twice before I got him in the net. Nice size fish for the 4 weight.
