1. I walked around #GreenwoodCemetery for hours. It's a special place to me, and I hadn't been there in a long time.

2. At Green-Wood, I spent a long time sitting at Crescent Water (see photos) listening to the birds chirp. Lots of robins!

3. I bought homemade Korean chicken dumplings from the amazing J&H Farm in Windsor Terrace (read about J&H here: https://www.ediblebrooklyn.com/2017/windsor-terrace-market-serving-moms-kimchi/).

I spent the first day of spring walking around #GreenwoodCemetery. I love taking photos there when the sky is bright blue. It's the perfect backdrop for the monument sculptures.

For #TombTuesday, I return to #GreenWoodCemetery in #Brooklyn, #NYC. A variety of small family mausoleums you see upon entering the cemetery. The black vents you see in the foreground mark the location of the underground winter 'storage' facility beneath where bodies were kept in winter months before the ground could thaw.

I almost let #tombtuesday pass without my contribution.
Again, this is a grave from #greenwoodcemetery in Brooklyn NY. It caught my attention because not only did Leroy Herbert Thompson die in Canada, he was heartbreakingly young. At first I thought perhaps he was killed in a military training exercise but after searching his name, I discovered he succumbed to pneumonia.

A red-tailed hawk, a downy woodpecker, an American robin, and a merlin, photographed in Prospect Park and (for the Christmas Bird Count) in Green-Wood Historical Cemetery, the past couple of weeks.

Okay, it’s #tombtuesday in most parts of the world right now, so I bring you a beautiful monument from #greenwoodcemetery in #brooklyn #nyc. Here we have the eternal resting place of Charlotte Canda (1828 to 1845) who passed away in her parents’ arms at age 17–following a carriage accident on the way home from her birthday party. Sadly & very poignantly, Charlotte’s monument was based on a design she herself had created and that was intended for her late aunt.
