Regarding the Super Bowl, I felt this year's Grey Cup game was more exciting, actually. There was too much stop of play to debate whether someone had "control" of the ball or not. There's less of that nonsense in the CFL, because players actually have space to properly play the game.

Ballard didn't win any championships when he owned the Toronto Maple Leafs but his Hamilton Tiger Cats did. As owner from 1979-1989, his team made the Grey Cup five times, winning once in 1986.

Today in 1909, the first Grey Cup is played between the Toronto Varsity Blues and the Toronto Parkdale Canoe Club at Rosedale Field in Toronto in front of 3,807 fans. The Blues win 26-6. The team will win the Grey Cup again in 1910, 1911 and 1920.

The 109th Grey Cup did actually finish in the Top 100 cable originals this week. The #CFL was able to draw 158k viewers (P2+). In the coveted 18-49 demographic, it scored a .03. This number elevated the CFL to 92 out of 100. P2+ is in line with what we’ve seen all season on US cable.
