You pass the bridge and it smells almost like citrus. The weather is not too hot, and setting up the tent went seamlessly (although I did have help.) Minutes here with kind people and a wealth of #nature and I’m already feeling almost like myself again, or the self that exists beneath all the layers of #trauma and #grief. I jumped right into it and helped #build a shower that will run on a #greywater system. #Grateful and letting the birds sing me and trees speak me out of my sadness.

Why not use our hand-washing water in the toilet bowl? That could save a lot of water!
Even at that low price, though, I can’t see many people doing it. Okay, maybe in the Bay Area, where there seems to be a stronger water-saving ethic than LA.

So much of the energy we use domestically is used for heating water, and a good chunk of that ends up as greywater.
Traditionally, that just gets chucked down a drain to a septic or sewer system, along with all the invested thermal energy. Greywater recycling lets you recycle the water, why not recycle the heat too?

Im in the northeast of #Netherlands at a community called #ecotribe. They are #offgrid, #grow their own veggies, recycle their #greywater and use #rainwater for dishes and showers. It's on an old military installation.
