@carolynporco what do you see as the likelihood of a #nuclear power plant ever being built in the US? My understanding is, aside from the #waste product issue, the cost is no longer competitive with alternatives. And by the time a new plant would be completed (is even 10 years possible) the alternatives will have improved even further. #Energy #Renewables #Wind #Solar #GridStorage

Europe might be able to see its future in today's California. Europe added almost 50 GWp capacity in 2022.

If an area has huge PV capacity, at peak sunshine hours the electricity company won't want your energy. Domestic PV owners are going to have to add some storage and do everything they can to shift consumption to midday.

What I assume to be Skelmersdale Battery storage (another Tesla Megapack site) has made an appearance in the BM system overnight. Given timing from breaking ground below I'd expect that will be announced as live shortly.

@sarahsteinberg This is so disheartening! We're working to #PutPeakersInThePast here in Massachusetts. They're the low-hanging fruit of any grid. Only needed for short times, only occasionally. The need is most often well served with #renewables and #gridstorage.
