I was at a funeral last week where the person conducting it referred to us - all of the people who knew the person who had died - as their eulogy, more than any words could possibly be.
That idea felt beautiful and profound and true and I keep thinking about it. 💜

Today was my first Thanksgiving without a living parent. My dad died in 2015, and my mom died on Christmas Day 2021, so lots of firsts this year. I think Mom would be happy knowing (1) I cooked homemade rolls and (2) I served said rolls on her china! 😊 #thanksgiving #grief #griefwork #parents

In the past 4 years, my home sangha has split and crumbled because of abusive behavior starting at the top of this particular lineage. Recently I was asked by a small group from this sangha to meet with them to talk about grief and to create a grief ritual. It has been powerful work, and I have such a deep appreciation that when we can communally lean into grief, both individual and collective grief, we touch wisdom. #buddhism #sangha #buddhist #griefwork
