This less-is-more approach to exposition within such a richly realized fiction really makes the world of feel massive and extremely believable. And that makes the characters, who are the game's true focus, feel all the more real

Replaying now, as a designer, I think it's amazing how effortlessly the world is presented to the player. For all idiosyncrasies of its universe, the game contains precious little straight-up exposition, and its always elegantly woven into the dialogue

Man, I adore that game. The writing and worldbuilding are just so goddamn good, still standout even now. Not sure I'd be who I am today if I'd never trekked across the 8th Underworld with Manny and Glottis as a kid
