Each failed attempt brings me that much closer to success. I think my 5V power supply doesn't supply enough amps. Maybe not enough Watts? I don't know. I spent over 4 hours working on my CNC plotter today. I get no X or Y axis movement. Something is causing the carriages to stick. A little pressure and they move. Remove the carriage and the motors work fine.

Frustrating.

#maker #electronics #cnc #raspberrypi I have now disassembled 4 DVD drives. 2 had stepper motors. After assembling my CNC & getting it working, a tiny plastic piece that fits into the worm gear broke rendering it useless for this application.

Took apart 2 more only to find a DC motor w/ optical sensor in each. Before I begin to freelance this thing I want to follow the example closely. Then I can get creative.

I am so very close to having a working device. Soon I will realize the #GroupSketch
