We commemorate the life of Mary Ann Goodman, 1804-January 26, 1872. Her generous bequest upon her death 151 years ago today righted the wrong done to first Black YDS attendee James W. C. Pennington. The Goodman scholarship ensured the ongoing presence of students of color, forever changing the face of Yale Divinity School.
