Oldest kid is staying at University this summer between graduation and graduate school to continue working with his research group. I'd thought we'd have him home for a month or two, but no. It's a good opportunity, so I can hardly say hanging with Cancer Mom®, Dad and teen siblings for the summer is the better deal.

Next oldest lives on his own and works most of the time. The two youngest have 3 and 5 years, respectively before flying on to bigger better things. (Hell, I'm facilitating it by encouraging one to literally pursue a pilots license.)

I have interests and a personality beyond being a parent. But, somehow, I'm sitting here having an anxiety attack knowing the time is coming soon when my house won't be chaotic w/ teens or kids running in and out. I love that chaos. I'm bummed the cancer has slowed me down from enjoying these last years of this level of Momness.

@thatandromeda #this. We had #sedans and a small #pickup. Once we had #twoKids, one in a #carSeat and one in a #boosterSeat, and a #largeDog, had to get a #stationWagon or #minivan to fit them all in. Then, years of taking #oneKid plus any more than two friends, because #kids under 10 or 12 or whatever aren't allowed to ride in the front anymore.

Now our kids are basically #grownAndFlown and our current #dog is smaller and we are able to manage most things with regular #Priuses.
