Our garden seems to be supporting a wide variety of bug life. Today I watched yellowjackets feast on a cut-up worm while blue-winged wasps buzzed nearby. On Friday we had a dragonfly swarm over just our property, for about 15 minutes. A bit hard to see but there were hundreds.

One broad bean planted itself in the flowerbed. Like all the other beans it took off at the end of August.
Leeks are doing great, some replanting needs to be done soon.
Kale and broccoli are thriving, as is
chard.

Tomato vines are straining under the weight of the late season big ones. Italian Heirloom variety, on the right, was last year's family favorite (even judged by the child who does not like tomatoes as "acceptable"). Country Taste variety, on the left, was a new one for us this year. It was just okay by itself, but should do well as sauce tomorrow. #gardening #GrowYourOwn #pnw

In the spring we had some old, sprouting potatoes that were no longer edible. For fun, I planted one potato in a 20 liter pot of soil. Other things have already grown in this soil in the last year. I added a bit of garden compost.
Today I dug these up, 1.7 kg potatoes.

顶着大太阳把地里的活儿干完了。重栽了韭菜（居然有小黑虫！），把上周买的生菜苗们种到地里，又直播了京水菜，小叶茼蒿，两种耐寒生菜，菜心和娃娃芥菜。接下来是下一场雨之前的浇水马拉松。上周下地的秋莴笋苗基本都活了。半个月前栽的草莓苗也开始长新叶，施过肥了。

目前地里正当时的是番茄黄瓜，苋菜，木耳菜和番薯叶。

2.3. 韭菜开花老了，没性子摘嫩韭菜苔，索性都挖出来。捡粗壮的根分成一份一份，晾一晾，明天换个地方种。

Update on the #grape juice having now tasted it:
- it's very opaque with higher viscosity than I was expecting. It looks pretty indistinguishable from blood 😂
- it has an intense flavour, more bitter than I expected. Not dissimilar to unsweetened grapefruit juice.
- I was unsure at first but it has grown on me after 4 glasses. Quite a nice breakfast drink to wake the mouth up
- next batch I may dilute very slightly and add a small quantity of sugar, but dont think it'll need much

I also made the first batch of scotch bonnet fish pepper peach hot sauce. And the second, with carrots I forgot on the first one.
Super easy, just peach, onion, a million peppers and some brine. Sits and waits a month or so, then blend boil and eat.

The #weedlings (now turned to #tweeds) are in school! Not really, but today it turned to fall in the tent. We've still got two Cheetah Piss and two Duct Tape, all from legalization day seeds. Both pics are in the new light, but the #espcam is better at filtering the red.
It turns out that the heat wave outside is not as helpful as I had expected. Lung room is warm, tent is hot but plants are ok.
I did a bit of pruning a few days back, but they weren't trained properly so it's no proper lollypop grow. (Only my second try, after all.)
No nutes since I'm on happy frog.
