Besoin d'aide : sur un PC avec LMDE, j'ai voulu retirer le Windows inutilisé, donc je suis passé par OS-uninstaller mais plantage... Et #Grub ne fonctionne plus ! En gros, démarrage de Grub en mode console. Impossible de lancer quoi que ce soit et quand j'essaie Boot repair depuis un liveusb, pas d'entrée de restauration 😟 , donc je suis un peu perdu. Apparemment, le boot est sur partition EFI /dev/sda2@/efi/Microsoft/Boot/etc. Une idée ?

I have to say, this was surprisingly painless, thanks to the #Calamares installer.

TL;DR:

• password-protect your BIOS!
• Btrfs + LUKS was super easy
• using GNU #GRUB now, might change to #rEFInd later
• DPS is a thing I need to read more about

I believe the last file has been copied! Upgrade and Migration was a Success!
One thing that sort of saved me was that I initially tried to plug the two drives into a dock and use dd to clone them. Well, it was very slow (hours). So I gave up part way. But it actually helped cuz it had already copied over the GRUB loader onto the new SSD. That helped me boot from a Debian net-install USB stick. I learned some GRUB commands. I'm setting up an #ArchLinux with encrypted (#LUKS) root partition (an #LVM volume) The /boot partition is left *unencrypted*. I want to decrypt my root partition through #ssh.

I'm following this guide, with #GRUB and #dropbear : https://s.42l.fr/bFl-G4_w

I'm facing two big problems:
1 - dropbear starts *after* a passphrase is provided for the root partition;

2 - dropbear fails to load dropbear_dss_host_key and dropbear_ed25519_host_key.

I noticed a blue #grub on #fedora today. Is it me only :fedora: ?

Transferred (cloned) my encrypted #Debian installation to another disk using dd. I mentally prepared for a night of wrestling with #GRUB to get it running properly, but it worked without a hitch. Sweet as. #Linux

Wrote a minimal UEFI bootloader for my OS project—because #GRUB is a monstrosity—initially with the intention of supporting only #x86_64. After getting it working, I noticed that there was almost no x86_64-specific code. Because I'm using #Zig all I had to do to recompile for #arm64 is modify a single line in build.zig. No fiddling with cross compilers or fucking with sysroots.

Lo and behold it worked perfectly (other than the fact that I didn't recompile my dummy kernel.elf for #aarch64). Zig might just have the most pleasant low level development and cross-compilation workflow I've ever worked with.

Der Bootmanager ist genial, schaltet sich dazwischen, wenn ich die FP angeschlossen habe, macht (im Ggs zu #grub ) nix, wenn ich sie abgehängt habe.
KDE eingerichtet und es fühlt sich richtig gut an. 👍
Dann die Benachrichtigung auf neue, automatische Updates. Eingespielt, Neustart erforderlich. Seitdem nur noch Konsole. init 5 und startx fahren vor die Wand.
Das kann es doch nicht sein? 🤔

Okay so. Can somebody please help me and explain why #Windows 11 feels the need to completely wipe my #GRUB boot loader every single boot having me to get out a god damn Arch Linux boot stick every single time?
