"Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub sued New York City on Thursday to block its new minimum pay rules for food delivery workers.

"The recently announced rules, touted as a national first, could nearly triple average earnings for app-based delivery workers in the coming years. An increased pay rate of $17.96 an hour is set to take effect July 12.

"New York’s more than 60,000 delivery workers currently make an average of $7.09 an hour, according to the city."

Does your delivery app show you a dropped pin in the customer's address space, or just the address?

A Taco Bell order appears on #GrubHub. It pays me $12.22 to pick up an order for one in White City, the only franchise in the valley whose prices are about 60 cents higher on every item to begin with. The delivery is to South Medford, 13 miles away. There are two other cheaper franchises along the route that are closer. My pay and tip were $2 more than the whole meal.

As an aside, why is the planet on fire?

Wow thank you #grubhub for giving me another year of a free trial that got absolutely zero use because nobody in my area drives for you... NOBODY! For a full 1 year free trial I have never had a single Grubhub order delivered to me because nobody drives for it here.

Just had a #Grubhub first. I rang the doorbell and a very big dog politely trotted to the door then sat quietly to watch me unload the bag. No barking, no biting, no tackling, they were just checking out what was going on without threatening anybody. I had no idea that was possible.

I'm on year 3 of doing delivery for #Grubhub and just had a terrifying new experience. The order I picked up is so spicy my eyes are watering and sinuses are clearing despite a box, an aluminum wrap, a plastic bag, and my thermal bag separating me from it. I like #spicy food but what sorcery is this?

@mathewthomas Pretty shure they see how other delivery services like #Lieferando aka. #Takeaway.com & #Flaschenpost went to the moon and buying themselves into the Indian equicalent of #GrubHub makes sense if they can in turn flex on gastronomers to sell #CocaCola - branded softdrinks.

Just like #PepsiCo bought #KFC & #PizzaHut...
