I'm going square-eyed from marking student's exam papers today. Half the task is just trying to figure out what on earth they're trying to say in the answer, never mind whether it's even close to to what was required by the question... #grumbles #accademics

a lot of the local fast food places have switched from paper cups to plastic ones that are stamped with please recycle...I'm a little nonplussed because we don't have plastic recycling facilities in our area in the first place, especially none that'd take plastic fast food cups that I know of. The paper ones at least decompose.

Many have well-reasoned, insightful views on searching and content presentation. These views are alas often condensed down to fairly meaningless phrases like: "opposing algorithms".

I am sure it saves time - but by god does it draw to mind the anti-intellectual phrasing of MAGA-folk and UK Brexiteers which (rightly) get so widely mocked.
