@slomo @swick Increasing the incentive for toolkit and app developers to dive into this was one of the core motivations for adding YUV support to Mutter :P

AFAIK there is only the #GStreamer #GTK3 gtkwaylandsink targeting embedded devices (which otherwise couldn't play video smoothly). Having proper support in #GTK4 / gtk4paintablesink and thus having multimedia apps just automatically offload video to subsurfaces where appropriate is what I hope to see in the future.

I **did** upload the latest #confy after having helped upgrading blueprint-compiler (the required version was bumped) in #Debian .

The #gtk4 version looks absolutely beautiful, but see for yourself in the screencast I just did on my #Librem5 (no hw acccelerated video encoding yet, so that's why its not full fps).

This is the sort of app that makes it an absolute joy #daily #driving #phosh !

What are the #gtk4 #gnome #adwaita video players you guys are using? I tried multiple in the past but non very recently and I want to see what the best option is. I would love for it to have a playback speed option and to continue playing the video at last played timestamp

Esse "unlockR" (GUI com #GTK4) também usa o qpdf (CLI para manipulação de PDF), cuja vantagem sobre abrir o PDF para leitura e imprimi-lo, é que decodifica o arquivo sem alterar conteúdo ou metadados que não precisem ser.

O unlockR ainda (0.8.1) não aceita parâmetro algum. Acaba sendo um processo mais longo ainda do que abrir o PDF no Evince e imprimir em arquivo.

Poderia colaborar com o projeto, mas acho mais prático logo o script que facilite passar os parâmetros ao qpdf propriamente dito.

From zero installations to 500+ installations under 2 months! It was an amazing journey where I experienced many emotions. And it's definitely worth it!

Dino got ported to #gtk4 and #libadwaita in version 0.4. So yes, the screenshot above with great mobile support is from the official version.

I think I'm getting the hang of designing #gtk4 guis. The secret seems to be "just put it in a GtkBox lol, if that's not enough then add another GtkBox". It would be even more enjoyable if Blueprint build process in #meson worked correctly for #Vala, but I guess that would be too convenient.

Now let's hope that this project won't be abandoned like all the others I've started
