#Guerneville #flooding update. Good news: initial high point now predicted to be below flood stage. Bad news: second high point in a few days still expected to bring moderate flooding.

Started the year off with a visit to Armstrong Woods State Natural Reserve in #Guerneville, CA. It was my first time visiting since the 2020 Walbridge Fire , which I reported on.

While Armstrong Woods has suffered fire damage before, prior to many of us living on this planet, and fire is critical to redwoods propagating, it was wild to see the damage from Walbridge.

Here is one photo of a tree beautifully damaged by the Walbridge Fire. The tree is still alive.
