What if #TheSimpsons ends up being like #GuidingLight where it goes on for so long it changes medium twice and goes on for 72 seasons, mostly ending because everyone who heard the premier died decades before the finale...
Claire working with Jim to find a cure for the Dreaming Death disease was everything. When the chips were down and a medical crisis was in full force, you wanted Dr. Claire Ramsey on your team. She was a top notch doctor, and worked well under pressure. A real take charge kind of person while in a medical emergency.

89. Hubbard received eight #DaytimeEmmy nominations for the role, but won twice for other performances -- first in 1974 for the role of Dr. Althea Davis on #TheDoctors, and then in 1976 for the TV movie "First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson". Hubbard also appeared on #GuidingLight, #TheEdgeOfNight, and #OneLifeToLive. She recently earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for a performance on the digital series #Anacostia (2016), and had roles in films including #TheBellJar and #OrdinaryPeople.

You gotta feel bad for Claire during the 1985 Thanksgiving episode. She is obviously very overwhelmed with motherhood. Love that Maureen just wants to help her with baby Michelle, and how sweet Mo is with Michelle, especially when she’s telling her about the pilgrims and the Indians.

I love that Claire’s version of cooking is making a TV dinner.

Another example of how Claire’s childhood truly impacted her life into adulthood. There were definitely moments where Claire wanted to be a good mother to Michelle, and she tried in ways to be a good mom. She gave glimpses of her life and her vulnerabilities to Michelle as to why she felt she wasn’t worthy of motherhood. To me, that has to be the saddest truth in this mother/daughter relationship.

One of the saddest conversations between Claire and Michelle is on the December 20, 2000 episode. Claire tells Michelle that she knows what it is to be a bad mother, but doesn’t know what it is to be a good mother. Claire continues to say that a good mother is strong, loving, and puts her child’s needs first. Michelle then tells her that Maureen is her mother, and that Maureen had given her everything that she needed.

Susan Pratt says that she had a really hard time with the decision of TPTB choosing to turn Claire dark. She was pained by their decision, and she didn’t recognize her character anymore. Claire and Fletcher had so much promise. The actors knew it too.

Watching The Locher Room reunion show featuring Guiding Light’s Susan Pratt and Jay Hammer. Love how when Susan came back for her second run as Claire that she was on the mission of obtaining Jay’s number, so she could talk to him. Friendship is fierce.

Cedars is a teaching hospital, so this would make sense as to how she was training Rick when he was going through med school. I also like that Claire was training doctors when she came back to town in 2000.

Robansuefarm answered my question about the branch of medicine that Claire specializes in. Apparently, Claire trains doctors and oversees the administrative side of medicine. This explains why she is well versed in different branches of medicine, and how she was able to deliver Michelle’s baby. I feel this also explains how she was also able to research for the CDC when she first came to Springfield.

Love the fact that Michelle is known for baking a good apple pie. In the beginning, I feel that Michelle wasn’t much of a cook, but then as her marriage to Danny continued, she became a better cook.

Maureen used to take Michelle to Len’s Ice Cream Parlor when Michelle was little. Her favorite flavor of ice cream is fudge ripple, and she will often get containers for she and Danny to keep at their house. I wish we could have seen Len’s onscreen.

That moment when Claire tells Michelle that she doesn’t know how to be a good mother is just so heartbreaking. Claire says that her own mother was cold, impatient, and would only give you one chance. We really got a glimpse into Claire’s psyche here. Fletcher might have broke Claire when he dumped her, but I think her childhood deeply effected her into adulthood as well.

Absolutely loved Harley’s story about running into Greg Beecroft 10 years after leaving GL. Harley is such a magnetizing storyteller. You can just feel all the words she speaks, such animation in her tales of acting and the soaps.

Harley Jane Kozak says of her audition for Annabelle that she might have auditioned with Greg Beecroft who played Tony Reardon, but she can’t remember. She did say that TPTB did know that Annabelle and Tony would be paired together though.

Claire only goes off because she truly does care about Fletcher, and her feelings are there.
Although, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Claire going off on someone is a whole mood.
