Short-scale Mitchell. Something smacked this thing hard across the top while being shipped to a dealer. So it was cheap.

This happened recently. Loaned it out to a friend, and I'm 99% sure it was an accident that he didn't even realize occurred.

Regardless, I'm going to see if I can repair it myself. I don't really have the tools or skills, but ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

A customer brought me this yesterday - the #fretboard is separating from the neck. I can move it with pressure.

Any harm in just getting some glue in there and clamping it? Do I need to worry about the #TrussRod?

#guitarrepair Focusing on neck repair with this one, not finish repair. And someone once told me that there's nothing wrong with showing a good, honest repair. Which I hope this will turn out to be.

@hollie A good luthier can fix it. Make sure you keep any pieces that may have fallen on the floor. I wish you well. Accidents happen. Going forward get one of these stands. I have one and love it.

Just spent 3.5 hours shoving the original pick-ups back into a #gretsch 2655 to get it ready to sell just to find out…they pretty good and I don’t remember what I didn’t like? A few differences between then and now:

- cold solder joints? had to redo a few that broke pulling out the originals
- bridge is a guitar fetish, a little heavier than the original?
- could be amp settings? Didn’t have time to try it with the same amp

I just finished a fret dress on this 1968 Gibson Country Western Model. It's a super neat #guitar Some things to point out, it originally had an adjustable saddle. The slot has since been filled in and routed for a more traditional saddle. The "top-belly" bridge is bolted on, and designed to help withstand the pull of the strings.

I finally had a chance to glue up that #mandola from one of my earliest posts! I'll probably clean it up and string it up tomorrow.

Side note: I always think these clamps look like some weird rhinoceros.

I joined #Mastodon a week ago. It was confusing at first, but here's what I've learned.

#HashTags are crucial to finding others you want to connect with - both followers or people to follow. Use them.

#CamelCase your hashtags, especially if they are multiple words. It makes them more readable for people using screen readers.

Use the #ContentWarning option more like an email subject - especially if your post is long (like this one). By all means, use it as an actual CW too if your post warrants it.

#Tusky is a much better #Android #app than the official app.

If you keep #replies as #unlisted, they won't clog up feeds but will be available as part of the main thread.

#ImageDescriptions are valued here as well.

There are people who know a lot more than me. This is just what I've learned by "reading the room" so to speak.
