Today I found the place where Comeng trains go to die. The location is a scrap metal facility in Laverton North.
You can actually follow their full lifecycle by following these three easy steps:
1) ride on an operational Comeng on the Sunbury Line
2) pass the mothballed trains at Tottenham Yards
3) pay your respects and see their remains here at the Comeng Graveyard

Very specific Sydney #gunzel question - does anyone know why there's a basically permanent "temporary speed restriction" to 15km/h on the Light Rail between Leichhardt North and Lilyfield?
Just uploaded 31 new #drone photos to my Flickr account, including images of the new railway stations and level crossing removals at Preston and Bell in Melbourne's north.

now on the bus home from healesville, just drove through yarra glen and saw this (seemingly) completely isolated level crossing in yarra glen, with a dead-end track on one side and a station building on the other. any folks on #train or #gunzel mastodon have any idea whatโs going on here? presumably some sort of restoration work? looked relatively new so i doubt itโs abandoned
