I had recently posted on benchmarking the reading in of a .csv file but received an email over the weekend pointing out the omission of something like csv.gz file(s).

Is er al een politiek draagvlak voor het opheffen van zorgverzekeraars?

Zorgkosten rechtstreeks betalen uit belastingen. Alle administratiekantoren er tussenuit scheelt minimaal 25% van de totale kosten. Geen zorgcowboys meer, noch cardiologen met bijbanen in vastgoedbeheer.

Of zeg ik nu iets heel raars?

I have a 20GB disk image of sparsely populated data -- less than 2GB used.

The pigz (parallel gz) compressed it into a 2GB file in 1m 30s on 4-CPU 8-Thread CPU from an NVME drive.

-5 -- level of compression (0-9)
-b -- blocksize (default 128K)
-c -- write to stdout (keep the original)
