A modest proposal for my #USA friends, regarding the problems with your H-1B visa program...

H-1B is important for #STEM fields, but has been rife with #abuse. It's supposed to be for #workers with #specialty #knowledge and #skills, which cannot be filled with a #US worker. Shady #employers and #contract agencies bring in cheaper foreign workers claiming they "can't find" US workers for those jobs.

Was listening to the #giants game on the radio today and several job ads came on, each with a robot voice describing the qualifications, the pay, and then listing two impossible links that had params passed and lots (and lots) of numbers. The first link was for the benefits package and the second, much longer and more complicated link, was for people wishing to apply.

I can only conclude that these are big companies checking off a tickbox prior to filling the job with an #H1B applicant for a third the salary. "We promoted the job on a big-market radio event but got no qualified applicants!" #scumbags
