North #Taiwan where I live should be fine apart from strong breeze and some rain. The south however will have a very tough time with downed trees, flash floods, high waves, storm surges, landslides…
Parts of the foundation of Provincial Highway 11 (台11線) in Taitung County has been washed away by strong waves from #Typhoon #Haikui, with the safety barriers on the northbound side being washed into the ocean.
🌀 Here it is, captured on radar! 🌬️⛈️🌊
#Typhoon #Haikui is set to become the first #TropicalCyclone to make landfall in #Taiwan in more than 4 years (previous one was Tropical Storm Bailu on August 24, 2019), and the first typhoon to do so in almost 6 years (previous one was Typhoon Nesat on September 29, 2017).
