#Haikus are simply any phrase, rhyming or not, which has exactly 17 syllables.

They don't have to be deep or philosophical or even serious. #Poetry can be fun. My favorite #haiku writer is #TomWilson (aka "Biff" in the #BackToTheFuture franchise). He has such humorous gems as:

"Life matches on, faster and faster,
But the fact is you can't rush toast."

"Danny Bonaduce
prob'ly wouldn't make a good babysitter."

" #FredFlintstone ordered ribs every week
He had to know they'd tip his car."

No offense taken at all. The thread where I explained how I see #Haikus is likely lost to auto-delete, but here’s a summary:
Mrs. White, one of the few teachers who I really love, taught us in elementary school that a haiku only has one rule: 5-7-5 syllables. Then there’s the suggestion that it paints a picture in the reader’s mind and has a twist at the end. So, because some people want to poop on that, I also use the #Haikoot hashtag for mine.

I have a lot of partial #Haikus scattered around; like unfinished houses, meant to eventually hold something special and worth sharing. Sometimes I go back and finish one, when the Muse inspires.
